Einen wunderschönen Abend! Ich habe euch vor zwei Tagen von der FEIF Video Competition erzählt, habt ihr es gelesen? Johanna, Carina, Anna und Ronja vom Reiterhof Burghauser haben sich dieses Jahr für Österreich ins Zeug geschmissen und einen tollen Erfolg mit ihrem Video eingefahren. Wie schon vor 2 Jahren eine große Gruppe von Jugendlichen vom Sachsengang, rund um Lilja.
Ich habe beim FEIF Youth Camp, bei dem ich im Juli war, zufällig einen der Organisatoren kennengelernt: Bert Collet aus Belgien. Glücklicherweise hab ich seine Mail-Adresse, also dachte ich mir, ich frag ihn mal, wie es denn hinter den Kulissen dieses Wettbewerbes so aussieht. Was hat sich die FEIF dabei gedacht und was sind denn die Kriterien für die Bewertung der eingereichten Videos? Wär doch gut, das zu wissen – nur falls in zwei Jahren wieder jemand mitmachen möchte. miia: Hi Bert! What is the idea behind the FEIF Video Competition?
Bert: The idea is to motivate young people to come and work together, but also to raise awareness for the international aspect of the Icelandic horse. But also of course to let them be creative and explore.
miia: Since when has FEIF been organizing it?
Bert: The first video competition was held in 2015, organized by Gundula, the director of youth for FEIF. So this year was only the second edition.
miia: What are the most important rules for this competition?
Bert: It`s teamwork, sticking to the theme and stay within the time limit.
miia: What are the criteria for the ranking? How do you find out which video is the best?
Bert: This is completely decided by our team of judges. They judge the videos by three main topics: Horsemanship, cinematics and creativity respectively 15 points, 10 points and 20 points. When all videos are judged we simply count all the numbers together and we have our ranking list.
miia: Who are the judges?
Bert: We keep the judges anonymous, on their request, but we guarantee that they all are internationally known people from the Icelandic and/or from the film/photography industry. They all achieved internationally success and fame.
miia: What are your plans and dreams regarding the Video Competition?
Bert: We plan to have the competition every 2 years, the years of the world championships. We dream of having dozens of videos created by motivated young people so they can share the passion they (and we) have for the Icelandic horse with the world and we will do our very best to help them do this.
miia: What are the challenges you are facing?
Bert: The biggest challenge is to get it spread out across the whole Icelandic horse society. We are trying hard to get videos from every member country of the FEIF and more.
